David Martin, Director
David Martin brings over 30 years of high school and college music education experience to the Healdsburg Chorus. He received his Bachelors degree in Music Education from San Francisco State University and pursued graduate studies at San Francisco State University, Golden Gate University, and University of Calgary. While teaching, David played violin professionally with music notables including Natalie Cole, Johnny Mathis, Smokey Robinson, Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban and other musicians on tour in the Bay Area. He has conducted bands, choirs, and orchestras domestically and internationally in Singapore, Australia, China, and Japan. He lives in Healdsburg with his wife Jane and continues his musical endeavors guest conducting, adjudicating, and playing violin. He enjoys international travel, loves to cook, and delights in spending time with his three granddaughters.
Beth Benjamin, Accompanist
Beth and her husband Kerry recently moved back to CA and now live in Windsor. She has been actively involved in teaching piano, organ and accompanying for many years. She has been an accompanist for Fresno Pacific University, Clovis Unified, Fresno Christian, among others in MN and CA. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Keyboard Performance/ Pedagogy and Church Music/ Administration from Bethel University in MN. She currently serves on the Board for the Music Teachers Association of California-Sonoma. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, fishing, camping, and 5.5 grandchildren. #6 is due in October. She enjoys being closer to her family, all living in CA.
